Ellie and Nick

Ellie and Nick’s wedding cakes were made by Lydia Kraitman Cakes. Rather than a traditional centrepiece cake, Ellie and Nick opted for their favourite puddings re-imagined as cutting cakes, so each table got to be a part of the moment, and then a small, stacked wedding cake for the cake cutting photos. Their consultation with Lydia consisted of Ellie describing the most magical woodland wedding setup imaginable, and they wanted the desserts to feel just as dreamy and special. As a pastry chef, Lydia loves when couples come with creative ideas, even if they’re only half-formed, and she then gets to shape them into something personal and unforgettable. Their chosen flavours were:

Lemon Meringue – lemon sponge soaked in limoncello syrup, filled with zesty lemon curd and crispy meringue pieces, finished with a toasted meringue coating.

Sticky Toffee – sticky toffee sponge layered with homemade spiced dulce de leche and mascarpone cream icing.

Rachel and Chris

Rachel and Chris’s cake and cupcakes were Victoria sponge with raspberry jam and were made by Sharon at Sugar Wish Cakes and Bakes. At their consultation, they asked for a simple but delicious Victoria sponge, with ‘naked’ icing and sugared ivy and they got exactly what they asked for! The addition of the creamy swirl-topped cupcakes in the same theme gave their younger guests an easier option and perfectly complemented their rustic celebration at The Woods at Oakley.

Alicia and Robin

Alicia and Robin’s woodland wedding cake is a true forest fantasy brought to life. Sitting on a rustic wood slice, the cake features a marbled green and white buttercream design that mimics mossy bark. Clusters of edible ferns, toadstools, and chocolate “tree trunks” add rich texture and depth. Delicate figurines of woodland creatures—including a fox, squirrel, and a tiny bird—nestle among the foliage, creating a storybook scene. Topped with sprigs of greenery and soft white florals, this cake blends beautifully into the natural surroundings of The Woods at Oakley, making it a perfect centrepiece for a magical outdoor celebration. Alicia and Robin’s cake was chocolate flavoured and was made by Cakes by Victoria Marie.

Emily and Ben

Emily and Ben’s woodland wedding cake is a true showstopper, designed to look like a realistic tree stump complete with textured bark and wood grain detailing. Set on a mossy green base, it’s surrounded by handcrafted mushrooms, miniature logs, and tiny jars of flowers, creating a magical forest floor scene. The charming cake toppers—a wooden bride, groom, and their dog—add a personal and whimsical touch. Every element of the display celebrates nature, making it a perfect choice for a wedding at The Woods at Oakley. Emily and Ben’s cake was made by Ben’s dad and was chocolate flavoured with chocolate ganache.

Lucy and Brent

Lucy and Brent’s cake was homemade by Lucy’s maid of honour and Brent’s sister Gabriella. The sponge was lemon flavoured. Their rustic woodland wedding cake is a stunning naked-tiered creation, layered generously with buttercream and crowned with an abundance of fresh berries—strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries. Nestled between each tier and at the base, delicate sprigs of baby’s breath add a romantic, foraged touch. Presented on a wooden slab and set within a warm, fairy-lit tipi, the cake blends beautifully with the natural, boho-inspired surroundings. A wooden monogram cake topper adds a personal flourish, tying the whole display together. It’s a simple yet elegant centrepiece that celebrates the beauty of nature with a touch of handmade charm and freshness.

Marta and Martin

Marta and Martin’s romantic woodland wedding cake is the epitome of rustic elegance. With its semi-naked buttercream finish, the two-tier design embraces a natural, hand-crafted aesthetic that blends effortlessly into the serene outdoor setting. Cascading down the cake are delicate, handcrafted sugar flowers in soft shades of blush, ivory, peach, and lavender, echoing the bouquet beside it. Set on a simple wooden table, this cake captures the light, airy, and floral essence of a forest wedding while still feeling timeless and refined. Marta baked this vanilla wedding cake herself!

Carly and Dave

Carly and Dave’s enchanting woodland wedding cake was made by a family friend and was a mix of sponge and chocolate cake. The three-tiered design features smooth white fondant accented with soft blue ribbon and whimsical floral arrangements of sugar ferns, mushrooms, and wildflowers. Two large, illuminated initials—C and D—add a modern, personal touch and a magical glow. Nestled on a moss-covered base edged with fairy lights and surrounded by toadstools and leaves, the cake evokes a secret forest glade. Perfectly suited for a celebration at The Woods at Oakley, it beautifully blends fantasy with romance.

Curving green stems and purple wildflowers bring the woodland theme to life, while the floral garland surrounding the base adds a natural, romantic touch. Unique and playful, this cake reflects Marysia and James’s joyful spirit and connection to the outdoors, blending creativity and sentiment in a truly memorable wedding cake.
